TriaVision, one of Alabama’s fastest-growing vision care groups, is welcoming VisionFirst, a leading eye care practice with nearly 30 years of history and five locations, into its statewide network. Today, the organization’s 25 ophthalmologists and optometrists represent the alignment of some of the most experienced eye surgeons and clinicians in the state, providing more than 100,000 patient visits and nearly 9,000 sight-preserving surgeries annually across 13 locations.

After a few years of growing pains, the burgeoning autism treatment industry is beginning to mature. But maturation comes with a price: rising expectations from payers and investors alike. With rates for applied behavior analysis (ABA) fluctuating across state Medicaid programs and more pressure to curb spending from commercial plans, there is a greater emphasis on providing quality outcomes. Still, providers need to standardize the most important outcomes to demonstrate; otherwise, payers will do it for them. And relationships with payers are a key driver in M&A activity. CMS Finalizes 2.6% Payment Increase for Hospital Outpatient Centers, ASCs.
The Trump administration has finalized the rule that sets government payments to hospital outpatient facilities and ambulatory surgical centers, including a 2.6% rate bump for each. That is an increase from the proposed Outpatient Prospective Payment System (OPPS) rule, which pitched a 2.4% increase in the payment rate for outpatient services and ASCs. The rule also finalizes proposals that are a step toward site-neutral payments, a policy decried by the hospital industry. Under the rule, the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS) finalized a plan to apply the Physician Fee Schedule rates to any codes assigned to the drug administration ambulatory payment classification when the services are provided at an off-campus facility.

Title: Suquamish Tribe announces acquisition of Kitsap OBGYN
The Suquamish Tribe has announced plans to acquire
Kitsap OBGYN
next year, keeping the currently independent provider afloat and persevering access to maternal care for expecting mothers in Kitsap County.
Much of the clinic's operations will remain the same, but moving under the tribe's umbrella will allow its 42 staff members to offer more efficient and effective care, said Amity Marriott, a doctor for Kitsap OBGYN. The agency will continue assisting with deliveries at St. Michael Medical Center and running clinics in Poulsbo and Silverdale, serving both tribal and non-tribal members
An exam room at the Suquamish Tribe Healing House.
“We will continue to offer compassionate and personalized medical care for women,” Marriott said in a statement. “The only difference will be that we will be offering this level of care with the support of the Suquamish Tribe.”

Tanner Scheid, an administrator for Kitsap OBGYN, confirmed in a phone interview Monday tough financial circumstances, including the threat of closure, proceeded the acquisition. Reimbursement rates have remained stagnant, making it difficult to remain profitable without outside support, Scheid said. The deal with the Suquamish should keep the agency open for the foreseeable future.
"I really applaud the tribe for stepping up," Scheid said.
The acquisition comes as many Kitsap mothers face
challenges with accessing prenatal care
. The region is often
referred to as an OBGYN desert
due to a shortage of providers. Marriott said she had seen estimates that one in four mothers travel into King or Pierce Counties for care.
Only 54.6% of mothers receive adequate prenatal care prior to birth, according to the most recently published data from the Kitsap Public Health District. That is more than 14 points lower than the state at-large.

Leonard Forsman, chairman of the Tribe, said in a statement that they filled a void for primary care in North Kitsap two years ago after
opening the Healing House
, a federally-qualified health center and medical clinic. The deal with Kitsap OBGYN he says will further expand its reach and improve access to care for everyone.
“Expanding our scope of services to include specialized care for women allows us to make progress toward our goal of improving the health of our tribal community, while also providing resources that will benefit the greater region,” he said.

Suquamish Tribe buying Kitsap OBGYN clinics in Poulsbo, Silverdale
About Our Ads

/PRNewswire/ -- MDI NetworX, a leading provider of technology-enabled business process solutions for the healthcare industry, today announced the acquisition of Cobalt MedPlans (Clarity Performance Solutions) from Cobalt Health Solutions, a wholly-owned subsidiary of Blue Cross and Blue Shield of Kansas City (Blue KC).
This strategic acquisition significantly expands MDI's U.S. operational footprint and strengthens its ability to deliver a full range of payer services — including claims processing, enrollment, and member and provider call center services — directly from U.S. delivery centers.
As part of the acquisition, approximately 250 U.S.-based employees from Cobalt MedPlans will join the MDI family, bringing MDI's total global workforce to more than 7,500. The transaction also adds two new Kansas locations — in Overland Park and Fort Scott — to MDI's existing U.S. operations centers. For more than 25 years, Cobalt MedPlans has built a strong reputation in the healthcare payer space, serving some of the leading national and regional Blues plans and other payer organizations. Its experienced operations team and deep domain expertise have made it a trusted partner in delivering high-quality administrative services.
MDI plans to make targeted investments in technology, process optimization, and workforce enablement to further enhance Cobalt's U.S. service delivery capabilities. A key component of this integration will be the implementation of MDI's AI-enabled SaaS platform, InsightPro, which combines intelligent workflow automation, advanced analytics, and quality assurance tools to drive measurable improvements in efficiency and cost reduction.
"This is a pivotal moment for MDI as we accelerate our growth strategy in the U.S.," said Tilak Sharma, Chief Executive Officer of MDI NetworX. "The addition of Cobalt MedPlans allows us to strengthen our U.S. delivery capabilities and deepen our relationships with payer organizations. By investing in technology and implementing our InsightPro platform, we will be able to increase throughput, improve accuracy, and reduce administrative costs for payers. This is about combining people, process, and technology to create real value."
"Cobalt MedPlans has been an integral partner to Blue KC and we are excited to see the impact of MDI's operational expertise and their innovative technology solutions," said Jenny Housley, President, Blue KC. "MDI is the right partner to build on Cobalt's success and expand its impact across the payer landscape."
The integration of Cobalt's U.S. service delivery capabilities with MDI's InsightPro platform will enable MDI to deliver end-to-end operational solutions that help healthcare payers scale efficiently, improve service levels, and manage administrative costs more effectively.
